Water

You're probably very aware that our bodies need lots of it  I love water! It helps curb my appetite and if it doesn't I drink more of it. The Body for Life recommends at least 8 cups. I probably drink 10-14 cups a day (I'm breastfeeding so need a lot of H2O). As an added bonus I've noticed that it also helps clear up my skin. So if you haven't implemented this great advice into your routine (hint hint mom.....I love you and want you to be around for a long time) start with 8 oz at each meal and build up to 16.

  1. Great reminder! Sometimes I think I'm hungry, but realize that I'm actually thirsty. It's amazing how easy it is (for me anyway) to misinterpret my body's signals. One of the biggest benefits I've noticed from clean eating and daily exercise on BFL is that the signals are becoming easier for me to translate. That being said, sometimes just plain old water doesn't sound good to me, especially if I have an upset stomach or something. In an effort to get all my water everyday, I've been 'spicing' that lovely clear liquid up with lemons, limes, mint, herbal teas...crystal light seems to really help too.

  2. Carrie-wow that's a hard thing to break. Allie-I drink water with & in between meals. It helps me decipher hunger & thirst issues. If I feel hungry before it's time to eat I drink ewater & chew sf gum. I sometimes want something besides water but I trioed sugar free drinks and it actually started making me crave sugar.
